Tendra sandbar

One of the main treasures of the Black sea is the Tendra Sandbar Peninsula, located in the Kherson region. The island is included in the Black Sea Biosphere Reserve.

You can go to the Tendra Sandbar only by sea. That’s why the island is almost uninhabited.

What is the characteristic of the Tendra Sandbar and why is this place so popular among tourists of Odessa?

One of the historical sights on the island is the Lighthouse. It was built in 1827 and has gone through a lot of disasters from bad weather.

This island is one of only a few places in the Black Sea where the real wild horses live.
